Why

Legal and compliance teams get new drafts constantly. Reading every line twice to find what moved — and deciding if it matters — takes hours. Policy Diff does it in seconds.

How it works

01

Paste both versions

Drop in the original and the revised document. No upload, no format constraints — just plain text. Label the document type and hit Analyse.

02

Get the full clause diff

Every change is classified — added, removed, or modified — and scored high, medium, or low materiality. An executive summary tells you what actually moved and why it matters.

03

Negotiate with precision

The ask-the-diff chat lets you dig into any clause, generate specific counter-proposals, or get a plain-English read for a non-legal stakeholder — grounded in the analysis you already have.

Features

Clause-by-clause diff

Every section is aligned across versions. Changes are typed — addition, deletion, modification — so nothing hides in restructured numbering.

Materiality scoring

Each change is rated high, medium, or low based on legal and business impact — liability caps, termination rights, IP shifts, or pure editorial. Triage in one pass.

Plain-English summary

A narrated executive summary of the delta, not legalese. Share it with the business without translating every clause yourself.

Ask-the-diff chat

Follow-up questions answered in context — grounded in the full analysis. Ask about specific clauses, draft counter-language, or request negotiation positioning.

Five providers, your key

Anthropic, OpenAI, Google Gemini, Groq, or any OpenAI-compatible endpoint. Your key stays in the browser tab and goes only to your chosen provider — never to Aonami.

Single static file

No build step. No server. No dependencies. Open the HTML file, or drop it on Vercel — that's the whole deploy. Works fully offline once loaded.

Who it's for

For legal, compliance, and ops teams who review contract redlines, regulatory updates, and policy revisions — and need to know what actually changed before the next call.

Open & honest

MIT licensed — fork it, read it, run itBYOK — your API key never leaves your browserNo backend, no proxy — documents go directly to your chosen providerGuidance, not legal advice — it analyses a document, it does not substitute a lawyer

Try it on your next redline.

Paste both versions. Results in ~15 seconds. No key needed to explore.

FAQ

No. Policy Diff runs entirely in your browser. Your documents stay on your device until you click Analyse — and then they go directly from your browser to the AI provider you selected, using your own key. There is no Aonami backend, no proxy, and nothing is stored or logged anywhere.
Yes. All analysis is powered by an LLM using your own key. Policy Diff supports Anthropic, OpenAI, Google Gemini, Groq, and any OpenAI-compatible custom endpoint. Your key is held only in memory for the current tab and is never persisted server-side.
Every identified change is rated high, medium, or low based on its legal and business impact. High materiality covers things like liability caps, termination rights, IP ownership, governing law, and data obligations. Medium covers operational timelines, assignment rights, and confidentiality scope. Low covers purely editorial changes — grammar, numbering, formatting. The scoring criteria are fixed in the system prompt and applied consistently across every run.
Any plain-text policy or contract — employment agreements, SaaS terms, loan agreements, privacy policies, regulatory circulars, NDAs, vendor contracts. Paste the text directly into the two panels. You can name the document type to give the model more context for its analysis.
No. Policy Diff identifies and explains changes between two document versions based on a fixed analytical framework. It is a drafting and review aid — not a substitute for qualified legal counsel, and not a final determination of legal rights or obligations.
